Avalanche warning for region Indre Fjordane Monday 23.05.2022

Be careful on steep slopes with soft and wet snow, a skier can trigger avalanches here. Keep distance to cornices and areas with glide-cracks.

Store deler av snødekket er smelteomvandlet og homogent. Men søndag vert det meldt om mykje vatn i snøen under 1300 moh. .

Det er fortsatt mye snø i fjellet. Snøgrensa er omtrent på 500 moh, høyere i sørvendte hellinger.

I høgtliggande breområder både i Nordfjord og Sogn har det vore observert drønn i snøen dei siste dagane. Observasjon i Sogn tilseier at det er laus smelteomvandla snø som kollapsar.

16 mm precipitation, up to 30 mm in the most exposed areas. Rain up to 1900 m a.s.l during the afternoon. Fresh breeze from southeast. 0 °C to 7 °C at 1400 m a.s.l. Cloudy.

Avalanche risk assessment

Høge temperaturar og regn gjer at snøoverflata framleis vil vere mjuk og laus, Ein kan forvente både naturleg utløyste laussnø og flakskred. Glideskred kan løysne av seg sjølv heile døgnet. Unngå opphald under glidsprekker. Dei fleste glideskreda i sørvendt terreng har allereie gått, og det er mest fare for dette i nord og austvendte fjellsider.
